I hold a PhD in medicinal chemistry but that by no means limits my skills to scientific and academic writing. My 10+ years’ experience in science communication and public engagement initiatives and 3+ years in the medical communications industry, has honed my copywriting skills for crafting impactful research stories for expert and non-expert audiences. In my current role as a Science Media Press Officer at Cancer Research UK, I work to raise the public profile of the charity’s vast research portfolio. I continue to write for other outlets as a freelance science and medical writer.

Unfortunately, my experience as a former thyroid cancer patient also gives me insight into this group of diseases from a personal perspective. I hope that sharing my former and current experiences can help to support others going through hardship because of illness.

As an avid fan of theatre, my press work expands into the arts sector, where I have been a critic and content writer for BroadwayWorld UK since 2018, covering theatre around the UK and interviewing West End and Broadway stars and creatives.
